Hammondbox

Imaginative portrait of Jeremy Hammond - a hacktivist - in the form of open electronic object.
The device, hidden in the George Orwell’s 1984, autonomously looks for office documents on a local network to which it is connected, and shares them to the world trough anonymous network called Tor. Part of the project was also the task of making available all the schematics and source code needed to build a copy on the project website. The work does not only links to the ’Stratfor case’ but also reflects not-so-widely known aspects of Jeremy’s personality : social and political activist, author of open tools for learning hacking techniques and sympathiser with the ideals of Anonymous - a global, decentralised underground movement.
